Do you wake up in the morning with a sore, stiff leg? Do your legs ache after sitting for too long? It might be time to find treatment for your pain. There are many different treatment options available that can help relieve your pain and improve mobility. However, everyone’s treatment plan is unique to them depending on their condition. In this blog post we will discuss some of the treatment options available and how they may benefit you!

Some treatment options are:

  • resting the leg
  • taking medication to reduce inflammation and pain relief
  • changing activity level, such as walking less distance each day.
  • switching positions often or using a footrest to reduce stress on your legs
  • wearing compression stockings (which help with circulation) and/or sleeves which may have heat therapy for warming up muscles before activity. This can also be done with ice packs for cooling down muscles after activity.
  • using a cane or walking stick to help with balance and reduce weight on the legs
  • getting treatment from a physical therapist who will work through exercises with you, teach you how to do them at home, and provide other treatment options such as ultrasound therapy (where sound waves are used to promote healing)
  • using a heating pad or ice pack for treatment of pain. These can be used on the leg, lower back (if that’s where your pain is), and other areas.
  • a referral to a doctor for further treatment if this does not work.

This treatment options are not one-size fits all. It’s important that treatment is tailored to the individual so they may find what works best for them!
